报告题目:Recent Development in Novel Osmotic Membranes for Water and Energy Applications

  报告摘要:

  Osmosis-based membrane processes include reverse osmosis (RO), forward osmosis (FO) and pressure retarded osmosis (PRO). Compared with widely used RO technology for seawater desalination, FO and RPO are emerging processes that have attracted intensive interests in recent years because of their potential to either reduce energy consumption or produce energy. This presentation will review the latest research developments in FO and PRO membranes at the Singapore Membrane Technology Centre. It covers the analyses of desired characteristics of FO/PRO membranes and optimal operating pressures for PRO process, comparison of flat sheet and hollow fiber membrane configurations, membrane characterization and performance evaluation under different application scenarios. The strategies for further improvement of FO/PRO membrane performances are also discussed, including the possibility of incorporating aquaporin water channel proteins into the selective layer of the membrane to enhance membrane water permeability.

  报告人简介:

  王蓉,新加坡南洋理工大学教授,土木与环境工程学院院长,长期从事化学工程、水、环境和能源相关领域研究,发表SCI论文220余篇,被引次数>8200,h指数51,膜制备相关专利24项,合著著作12部/章。王蓉教授是Journal of Membrane Science副主编,Desalination编委,2013年新加坡国家发展研究奖(功绩)的共同获得者,同年被Lux Research评为全球杰出的25位水务科学家之一,2016年在联合国总部获得由联合国秘书长潘基文颁发的享有盛誉的“阿都拉西斯亲王国际水源奖(PSIPW)”。研究领域包括正渗透(FO)/压力阻尼渗透(PRO)膜、低压纳滤膜、疏水中空纤维膜、仿生膜和混合基质膜;正渗透MBR(膜生物反应器)、CO2分离膜接触器、海水淡化膜蒸馏、混合气体分离等。
