刘中民,男,汉族,1964年生于河南省。理学博士,研究员,博士生导师,中国工程院院士,全国政协第十四届委员会常务委员,辽宁省政协第十三届委员会副主席,民盟辽宁省第十五届委员会主任委员。现任中国科学院大连化学物理研究所所长、低碳催化技术国家工程研究中心主任、国家能源低碳催化与工程研发中心主任。

刘中民长期从事应用催化研究。作为技术总负责人合作完成了多项创新成果并实现产业化。完成了世界首次甲醇制烯烃(DMTO)技术工业性试验及首次工业化,DMTO技术已实现技术实施许可2400万吨烯烃/年,已投产超过1300万吨烯烃/年;完成了世界首套10万吨/年煤基乙醇(DMTE)工业示范项目,DMTE技术已实现技术实施许可455万吨/年,已投产超过165万吨乙醇/年,引领了我国新兴煤制大宗化学品和清洁燃料产业的发展。

    刘中民曾荣获国家技术发明一等奖1项、国家科技进步一等奖1项、辽宁省科技最高奖1项、省部级以上科技奖励十余项,以及周光召应用科学奖、何梁何利基金科学与技术产业创新奖等多项个人奖励,是国家五一劳动奖章获得者,新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选。
